Meet the All-New Second Opinion!

We’re live. Welcome to the all-new Second Opinion.

Second Opinion is getting a glow-up.

Health care is one of the largest industries in the world, and also one of the most confusing. The incentives are strange, the acronyms are endless, and the stakes are enormous. So, we started writing.

Today, Second Opinion has grown into something much bigger than a newsletter. Because of this community, it’s become part of how people across healthcare stay informed, shape their thinking, and make decisions. I’m really grateful for that. Now, we’ve entered our next phase.

Second Opinion is no longer a missive you receive a few times a week. It’s a new media company with a whole new team to go with it. Our evolved site brings that to life with a clearer way to move across everything we’re creating.

Here’s how to navigate:

  • Read our perspectives and news on what’s happening in healthcare  to understand why it matters
  • Watch Second Opinion Sessions, where we talk with the leaders, executives and decision makers behind healthcare’s biggest companies
  • Listen and Subscribe to Lifers, a podcast about the people in healthcare who are in it for the long haul, because it’s worth fixing
  • Research to go deeper into our market maps, playbooks, and how-tos

If  you like what we’re doing, you can also learn how to partner with Second Opinion and reach an audience of people shaping the future of healthcare.

We’ve also made updates to the ways in which you can support what we’re doing. We now offer:

  • Premium memberships for individuals who want deeper insights, more access, and more ways to engage
  • Enterprise options for teams and institutions who want to bring this thinking into their organizations

If Second Opinion has been useful to you, upgrading is the best way to fuel our efforts to deliver the deep insights on the health care industry that no one else has. You can explore membership options here.

There’s a lot more coming this year. More programming, more intelligence, and new ways to bring this community together. Our inaugural Second Opinion Summit is officially sold out, but you can learn more about the event and join the interest list for 2027 here!

Episode 2 of Rounds is here!

Co-hosted by Christina Farr and Stephanie Davis, this episode dives into women’s health care. Megan Scheffel from Silicon Valley Bank joins to break down the latest SVB women’s health report, and Joanna Strober, Founder of Midi Health, sits down to talk about building a billion-dollar company out of a gap the healthcare system has spent decades ignoring.
